and Silver. Went to Uganda Summer 2013 to work with
Oxford, Surrey & Kent Guides on their Water
Sanitation & Chilli Children Project. Attended
the Unit Paris October Half Term Youth Hostel Trip
2013 where she made her Promise on the Eiffel Tower.
Went with the Unit to Kandersteg in 2015. Starting
at Oxford Brookes October 2016. Doesn't attend
often.

Joined from a local Guide Unit having
finished her BP Award. Loves cycling, dancing &
swimming, hates crisps. Completed Bronze DofE,
working on silver. Her
favourite memory so far is making her Promise on
the top of the Jungfrau. Went with
the Unit to Kandersteg in 2015. Was Treasurer,
currently Unit Chair. Working on Queen's Guide Award
and a Young Leader with Kidlington Rainbows. Went on
the Unit Spectacular Mystery Trip to Belfast 2017.

Joined from a local Guide Unit,
having completed her BP Award. Loves pasta &
swimming, hates wasps. Completed Bronze DofE,
working on Silver. Her
favourite memory so far is the Unit visit to
Thorpe Park & sleeping over at the Centre.
Went with the Unit to Kandersteg in 2015. Elected
Secretary Sept 2016 AGM. Working on Queen's Guide
Award and a Young Leader with a Brownie Pack in
Kidlington. Will have gained her SS Camp Permit
(Feb. '17) once her accounts are in.She loves
swimming and food, hates wasps and another great memory is when she smashed
the frame in Ultimate Frisbee on one of her
first Ranger nights.

(Leader)
|
Unit Leader. Daughter of a Leader who
used to Guide in Kidlington, she travels from Witney
to Rangers each week. Now working in a private
school as a Librarian part time whilst studying for
a PhD at Oxford Brookes University. Completed Gold
DofE Award and presented with it on 6.4.12, having
gained Bronze & Silver. Formerly a Brownie
Guider, currently a member of the Oxford Gang Show
cast and their Dance team, involved in choreography
and production. Attended the County Camp, Quest, in
2005 and 2010, also Unit Camp at Nordjamb in Iceland
in '06. Senior Section Indoor Permit and Chief
Guide's Award January 2009. Was in charge of this
web site - for her sins!! Left the Unit in September
2009 and started as an Assistant Guider with us
immediately after. Completed Queens Guide Award end
of 2010 & presented with it at the House of
Lords in April 2011. Awarded both her Senior Section
Camp License and her Senior Section Leadership
Qualification on 16.9.11. Led the Unit Camp to
Guernsey Summer 2012. Attended the Paris October
Half Term Youth Hostel Trip 2013.Took Unit to
Wellies & Wristbands Summer 2014, and to
Kandersteg, Switzerland in 2015, where she worked
for her 'Going Abroad' endorsement. Completed her
British Expedition Leader Award in 2014. Cheryl
loves dancing and her favourite Horizon memory "Was making my Promise in the
Blue Lagoon in Iceland" Organised and
led the Unit Spectacular Mystery Trip to Belfast
2017. |
Eleanor
|
A former Guide from
yet another local Village, with her Baden-Powell
award. Completed Bronze DofE with us and started
Silver. A YL with Brownies in Woodstock. Attended
Wellies & Wristbands with Cheryl at Foxlease in
2014. Took her SS Camp Permit in December 2014 and
went with the Unit to Kandersteg in 2015.She loves
music and her hobby is exploring stories: books, TV
programmes, films, visual novels etc. Eleanor hates
peanuts and her favourite
Horizon time was in Switzerland, she loved the
whole experience of an International Camp in
such beautiful surroundings.
Presently working on both her Queen's Guide and
Silver DofE Awards. Off to Keele to study maths in
Sept 2016.

'14 got her B-P Award. Working on her Bronze DofE
with us. A Young Leader at both Rainbows &
Guides. Mum a Leader. Attended Wellies &
Wristbands with Cheryl at Foxlease in 2014. Her
favourite hobby is playing netball, she loves Disney
films and hates rats. Her
best Horizon memory is going to Thorpe Park.

Formerly a Guide from
another local village, joined as part of a group.
Chosen to represent Anglia at a camp in Uganda in
the summer of 2011, having camped in Africa with a
Midlands Region Group with Julian Sore & Hants
Scouts the year before as a Guide. Once a YL with a
local Cub Pack and now working as a Leader in
Training with 3rd Kidlington Brownies. Also as well
as her Leadership Qualification she's trying for her
Gold DofE Award and her Queen's Guide. Was Unit
Secretary. In Summer 2012 Emily attended the
Guernsey Summer Camp & in August 2013 the National Scout and Guide Symphony
Orchestra Course in Consett, County Durham, she
gained her SS Camp Permit in December 2013. She's
Currently at the University of Malta studying
Medicine. In August 2015 Emily once again joined
Julian & Hampshire Scouting in Africa. This time
they worked to develop the Medical Centre at Iragua,
in the Rungwe District of the Mbeya Region of
Tanzania. She's planning on going with them again as
a Leader in 2017 and went back to reconnoiter
Tanzania in September 2016. Was also a member of the
Comms. Network for 'Use Your Voice' in London Sept.
2016

Felicity, joined January 2008, was a member of a
local Guide Unit. Has Bronze and Silver DofE Award,
and her BCU 1 & 2 Star Kayaking awards, still
working on her Gold DofE. Formerly a YL & LIT
with Brownies, Camped at Essex Jamboree with
us in 2008 & Italy 2009. Currently studying
Biological Sciences at Edinburgh University. Her
course included a year studying in Paris, where she
looked after us when we visited in October 2013.
Still at Edinburgh in November 2015. In India -
Spring 2017 - finally finished Gold DofE Award..

Frankie
(Leader)
|
A Guide friend of
Emily's, from a village to the north of us, joined
later than most. Has her Leadership Qualification
with Rainbows in Cardiff, working on it with us. Was
Unit Chair & in August 2013 she went on the the
National Scout and Guide Symphony
Orchestra Course in Consett, County Durham. Chosen
to go to Nepal as an Assistant Leader with an Anglia
group Summer 2014. Currently studying violin at the
Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama, where
she's a Rainbow Leader. Her favourite hobby is
Rangers, she loves traveling and hates Brussels
sprouts, as to memories,
she says they're all brilliant!
Left Rangers in September 2015 and immediately
joined again as a Leader in Training. Is planning on
joining Hants Scouts as a Leader in 2017 and
recently went out to Tanzania with them on a recce
with Emily.

Joined Spring 2017,
has her B-P Award and is working on her Queen's
Guide Award, formerly a member of Abingdon Angels (a
local SS Unit), currently a Leader with Rainbows.
Georgina is a Hot Air Balloonist, studying the craft
in every spare moment she has. She hates exams,
loves her boyfriend, family and friends and her favourite Horizon memory was
attending City Mazes with the Unit. |

school. She likes reading & listening to music,
hates not being able to sleep and her favourite
Horizon memory is 'making honeycomb'.
She attended Wellies & Wristbands with Cheryl at
Foxlease in 2014 & went with the Unit to
Kandersteg in 2015. Attended a Peer Education
Training in October 2015 and both Brumjam at
Blackwell Court and Gilwell Reunion in 2016. Off to
Plymouth Uni to train as a Teacher Sept. 2016

Summer 2015. Loves singing, Anime & drawing
cartoons, her favourite Horizon memories are
'making fantasy flowers', 'going on the
Mystery Trip to Belfast' (her first ever
flight) and 'singing along with the Rangers to
Mama Mia'.

|
First meeting in
September 2011, is working on her Leadership
Qualification at Brownies in a local Village. Camped
with Maisie Summer 2013 and came to Paris with the
Unit in October Half Term 2013, making her Promise
on the Eiffel Tower. Currently Unit Secretary. This
year she inter-railed around Europe which she loved.
One of her favourite
Horizon memories was visiting Paris in October
2013. Presently studying at Aston
University, Birmingham. Not seen her for a while.

A Guide originally from Banbury,
joined Easter '14. Working on her Bronze DofE with
us. Mum previously involved with Guiding in
Kidlington and Aunt a Leader at Horizon. Went on the
last ever Sun Run and the first Evolution, then with
the Unit to Kandersteg in 2015.Her favourite hobby
is Rangers, she loves netball, hates water and her favourite Horizon memory is
everything she's ever done since joining the
Unit. Spent the summer of 2016 doing
NCS, doesn't come very often.

Leader. Unit Secretary 2015-6, currently Unit
Treasurer. Loves playing hockey, and her dog. My favourite Horizon memory
comes from attending Evolution, getting lost and
Nairne having a filthy foot having got stuck in
the mud. She was so angry, even though I lent
her my sock!! Gained

Autumn 2016, having completed her BP Award. Is
working on her Bronze DofE Award through school and
loves spending time with her dog, reading and
swimming. Her favourite Horizon memory so
far is the fun she's had at both Tilly's &
Chelsea's Permit Camps.

Also an ex-Guide,
moved to Oxford from a local village as some other
members have, was a member of the Gang Show cast.
Formerly Unit Treasurer. Camped with Mim at
Longridge Summer 2011, with Cheryl & Mim in
Guernsey Summer 2012. Completed modules 1-6 of her
Senior Section Camp Permit July 2013 when she ran a
camp at Youlbury. Attended the Paris October Half
Term Youth Hostel Trip 2013. Was a YL & an
Assistant with Rainbows in Kidlington, working for
her LQ. Still trying for her Gold Duke of Edinburgh
and her Queen's Guide Award. Loved Innovate Cardiff.
Currently on her gap year & working locally.
Attended District Circus Camp at Dry Sandford to run
face painting session and Blackland Farm Survival
weekend 2016. Off to Bath to study Psychology Autumn
2016.

Mim
(Leader)
|
Formerly a Rainbow,
Brownie and Guide in West Oxford District Mim joined
Horizon when she was 14 and has been with us more or
less ever since, despite her Mum (former West Oxford
D.C.) starting a Ranger Unit in her old District.
Mim is both a Brownie Guider and a Guide Guider and
completed her Senior Section Leadership
Qualification with us in 2014. She has her BCU 2
Star Award 21.9.09, her Chief Guide's Award
14.11.09, her Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award 24.6.11
and her Queen's Guide Award, 16.9.11.
She first camped with the Unit in 2007 when we spent
a week at Haven at Perranporth. Also in 2007 she
joined the County Camp in Finland. Then in 2008 she
attended the Essex Jamboree with us and the Anglia
Region Camp in Slovakia. In 2010 she camped at our
County Camp, Quest and with us again when we went on
our Ultimate Adventure to Barcelona and in 2011 she
gained her SS Camp License with us, taking the girls
on a Water Camp at Longridge. She was Joint
Camp Leader with Cheryl for Guernsey 2012. Went to
Uganda Summer 2013 to work with Oxford, Surrey &
Kent Guides on their Water Sanitation & Chilli
Children Project. Went to Wellies & Wristbands
at Foxlease in 2014. This year (2015) she's off to
Sangam. Has her 200 Nights Away Badge.. Joint Leader
of the Fiji trip 2016. Was County International
Advisor 2013-2016
Having completed her Maths & Theoretical Physics
Degree and Masters at Exeter she's working in Oxon
again whilst looking for something long term,
preferably with the Met Office. Now working in
Swindon, married Alex January 2017.

A Guide from Bicester, with her BP
Award, joined Easter '14. Was a Young Leader at
Rainbows. Loves dogs, body building and Zac Efron,
hates cats and Science. Her
favourite Horizon memory was her Valentine's
romantic meal with Katherine (see photos). Presently Chair of the Unit.

Nette
(Leader)
|
With the Unit since March 1980 (that long !). In
her time has been Division Camp Adviser, County
Ranger Adviser and held various other jobs, is
currently Joint District Commissioner and on the
Fund Raising Committee to rebuild Kidlington Guide
Centre. Has her Trainer's License (now lapsed) plus
some other things!! Celebrated her 25th Anniversary
with the Unit with a Reunion Do in April 2005. It
was a lovely Party! Attended every camp and major
event! has her 100 Nights Away Badge (only started in Jan.
2006) and her 40 year bar.
Now over 65 and much more wary of sleeping on the
ground!!! but still enjoys the weekly meetings. Was
given a lovely Surprise Party by the Unit when she
stepped down as Leader in Charge in February 2014.
Thank-you everyone. Retired from employment Summer
2014 and now has a nasty habit of disappearing
abroad, so not as reliable as once was!!

Kidlington Guides, was a Young Leader with one of
the Kidlington Brownie Packs. Was Unit Secretary.
Loves yoga and reading. Hates spiders. Sophie's favourite Horizon
memory is the annual Christmas dinner and the
exchange of gifts with the Left/Right story.
Presently at Chichester University studying English
and an Affiliate member.

and partying. Attended the Paris October Half Term
Youth Hostel Trip 2013, making her Promise on the
Eiffel Tower. Went with the Unit to Kandersteg in
2015. Has her Bronze DofE Award and working for her
Silver. Working on Queen's Guide Award. Will have
gained her SS Camp Permit (Dec '16) once her
accounts are in. Favourite

abroad and the Thorpe Park visit. Went
