HOW WE PROGRAMME IN OUR UNIT
One of the first meetings of
term is our Programme Planning meeting, or
even the last meeting of the previous term!!.
#Before we start we spread around the room
loads of Programme ideas - divided up under
the 8 Octant headings. See
representative lists at foot of page.
#Firstly every girl has a copy of her Record
sheet - this will help her decide what
activities she needs to do to complete either
her Chief Guide's Award or an Octant
BADGE/certificate.
Finally - #The Chair or Secretary will
then collect the ideas in, each is
discussed and put on a Yes, No,
Maybe pile - then the most popular
ideas are placed on the calendar as
laid out below. #We try and ensure that
everyone gets at least one activity
they
want and that we cover all 8 Octants
perterm.
Then
methods we use:
I #Small pieces of
coloured paper are distributed to
each member (we use eighths of an A4
page). Tending to give 5 x yellow -
for Meeting Night ideas, 2 x blue
for Overnights
and
1 x green for Fund Raising (although
they do vary).. #The
girls write their one suggestion
only per piece of paper, adding
their name if they want to organise
it.
Another method: II #Is to cover the table with
a paper table cloth, each girl has a
marker pen and they scribble their
ideas on the cloth, which is
regularly turned around.
Yet another method: III To just brainstorm onto a
Flip-chart.
And yet another method
IV #(borrowed with thanks from Laura
Mackay) is as depicted on the left
